Academic achievement & community engagement housing scholarship

Maria Trica-Mavrodin

Meet Our 2022 Recipient

Maria Trica-Mavrodin
“I am so incredibly grateful to be the recipient of the housing scholarship and having had the opportunity to live at Campus1. Their incredible facilities, whether that be the basketball court, the Lego room or the SkyLounge allow you to relax after an exhausting day and provide you with the best places to socialize. Furthermore, their location in the heart of Montreal, only minutes away from all major universities and the shopping and entertainment districts is convenient for all students. The staff is also so kind and truly make you feel like home and the community assistants go above and beyond to ensure that residents have fun events to look forward to and make themselves available if students ever need anything. All in all, Campus1 gave me the opportunity to live in a safe and clean environment where I had the chance to make friendships that will last a lifetime with people from all over the world! I wouldn’t have wanted to live anywhere else. Thank you!”

Meet Our 2021 Recipient

“I would first like to say that receiving this year's scholarship is equally honouring and encouraging to further the activities and distinctions that have led me to be nominated in the first place. The scholarship has turned out to be even more fruitful than I thought it would be. It allowed me to enter university life without feeling the economic burden of affording living expenses in downtown Montreal and provided a welcoming and caring environment in which I believe I am striving. Arriving at Campus 1 MTL, I did not know what to expect. I was positively impressed by the efficiency of the facilities provided and by the staff's and security's commitment to ensuring our wellbeing and good integration into university life. I was also surprised by the number of people I met during the earliest days of my arrival, some of which have grown to be close friends and people I could see myself building long-lasting relationships with. I am convinced that I would not have had the same opportunity to socialize, expand my network, and connect with people from around the world had I not chosen Campus1 MTL as my first-year residence.”

“I am so very grateful I was given the opportunity to live at Campus1 Montreal during my first year of university. The Covid-19 Pandemic is something that none of us saw coming, but places such as Campus1 MTL that provide a safe space were students can grow academically, socially, and internally really does shine a light during this dark times. I can truly say that this experience was not only different but wonderful and I for sure will be a resident next year. Thank you for seeing my potential, for your generosity, and investing in my future. Thank you for fostering and inspire successful students everyday.”
